Dark as death

Tainted as his soul

Was his love.

Love.

It was desire that danced in the borders

While sugary words enticed

Through the hollow letters the colour of night.

Night.

Through the shadows

Over the twisted tree roots

Past the prickling bushes

I made my way towards a cheetah like form.

Cheetah.

He traced my jaw line once

Even the moon ceased to watch

As the animal began devouring me.

Love.

Has its consequences

Carrying in my womb, his sin

I eloped. I went to him.

To him.

He took good care of me.

With a bullet and the words;

“Black Love.”
